Japan made "Brother" has once again achieved a groundbreaking innovation with the launch of the true 5-axis mill-turn machines, M200Xd1-5AX and M300Xd1-5AX, into the market. Previously developed 5-axis models were limited to 4+1 simultaneous axis movement, which was more than sufficient for parts primarily requiring drilling and tapping. As the industry's understanding of 5-axis machines deepens and the demand grows more fervent, there is a comprehensive need for the capabilities of true 5-axis machines. For industries with a diversity of products—such as the prototyping sector—and for 3D components—like those in the medical industry—the 5-axis simultaneous machining functionality opens up a broader range of processing possibilities.

The 5-axis simultaneous machining functionality includes:

Tool Center Point Control (RTCP) for tool tip following, which adjusts the tool orientation during workpiece machining, inclined plane coordinate setting, and the ability to pre-read up to 1,000 program segments with sub-micron level precision commands. The new CNC-D00 control system is employed, with a significantly enhanced CPU capability, offering a fourfold increase in the processing capacity of fine line segments compared to traditional controls. With the ability to pre-read 1,000 program segments, sub-micron level commands, and a storage capacity of 3GB, it enables high-speed processing of CAM data with tight tolerances. Additionally, the A-axis utilizes a roller gear cam and the C-axis is equipped with a direct drive (DD) motor to eliminate backlash. These features facilitate high-speed and high-precision 5-axis simultaneous machining.
